Sussex Life editorial by Steve Roberts February 2014 made a quest to prove conclusively that the trial Cub Scout group was founded in Robertsbridge in 1914.
Steve Roberts fell short of his quest, but hoped that a reader would possess that missing nugget of information to prove that Robertsbridge is the true birth place of the Cub Scout movement in 1914. Robertbridge famous for it's ancient buildings built around the area of the old Cistercian Abbey where the memorial now stands, housed the old cricket bat factory in the 1920's where Fred Ebor Waghorn once worked.
BELOW PROVES NOT ONLY ROBERTSBRIDGE IS THE BIRTH PLACE OF THE CUB SCOUT MOVEMENT - BUT ALSO THAT LESLIE WAGHORN AND FRED EBOR WAGHORN WERE THE YOUNGEST AND FIRST TRIAL CUBS IN THE WORLD.
